#openstack-sdks - 2020-06-23
09:11:15 frickler sdk networking tests are currently failing on master, fix is https://review.opendev.org/737460
09:12:00 gtema thks for the heads-up frickler
09:14:01 openstackgerrit Slawek Kaplonski proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Remove neutron-fwaas from the jobs' required project https://review.opendev.org/735858
09:27:19 openstackgerrit Sagi Shnaidman proposed openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: New CI jobs configuration https://review.opendev.org/736946

13:24:07 openstackgerrit Sagi Shnaidman proposed openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: Fix typos in job definitions https://review.opendev.org/737538
15:46:09 zallen Why do I not have `openstack network trunk ...` commands on the python client version 5.2.1?
16:01:13 mordred zallen: good question. I agree with you - they are not showing up for me either
16:01:19 mordred zallen: I will look in to it
16:13:37 mordred zallen: I don't see this in 4.0.0 either - did this work for you before?
16:13:40 mordred slaweq: ^^ ??
16:20:19 mordred zallen, slaweq: ok - so it doesn't look like python-neutronclient is providing trunk create as an osc plugin - it's a neutronclient plugin
16:21:59 mordred mnaser: ^^ you concur with this, yes?
18:00:00 zallen mordered This didn't work for me before, but it's working for a friend using python2
18:00:42 zallen There are certainly trunks in openstack... do I just need to install python-neutronclient
18:04:28 openstackgerrit Merged openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: New CI jobs configuration https://review.opendev.org/736946

18:51:20 openstackgerrit Sagi Shnaidman proposed openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: Update author lines https://review.opendev.org/736307
18:58:31 mordred zallen: yes - as best I can tell at the moment, the code implementing this inside of neutronclient is not registering plugins for openstackclient - but only for neutronclient
18:58:50 mordred I do intend to fix that - but that's part of a larger effort
19:24:13 openstackgerrit Monty Taylor proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Upload image via interop import if available https://review.opendev.org/737608
20:40:51 openstackgerrit Monty Taylor proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Upload image via interop import if needed https://review.opendev.org/737608

#openstack-sdks - 2020-06-24
08:30:32 openstackgerrit Jens Harbott (frickler) proposed openstack/python-openstackclient master: Expose flag for forcing use of import for images https://review.opendev.org/737625
09:31:41 frickler mordred: ^^ seems python is pretty strict on keeping "import" for itself, also added a small unit test
10:18:16 openstackgerrit Jens Harbott (frickler) proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Remove neutron-fwaas from the jobs' required project https://review.opendev.org/735858
13:38:25 mordred frickler: awesome update
13:40:10 openstackgerrit Monty Taylor proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Upload image via interop import if needed https://review.opendev.org/737608
13:40:43 gtema zuul seem to be a bit overloaded, isn't it?
13:40:57 frickler gtema: I was just thinking the same, yes
13:41:19 frickler 3 hours for the sdk fix and still not a single job started
13:43:00 mordred frickler, gtema: I think there is an issue that's being investigated - I'm actually just about to read that scrollback
13:44:21 gtema that's at the time where one of the DeutcheTelekom datacenters was cut from internet (normal and redundant fiber damaged)
13:44:43 gtema I thought Monday is bad, but no - Wednesday is worse
14:02:13 mordred gtema: in my new house I'll be putting in a GSM backup network on my main router - have you considered just putting a cell phone in as a backup to the fiber?
14:02:38 gtema GSM backup for a huge datacenter?
14:02:58 gtema I am lucky to have not even a proper 3G in my place
14:04:07 mordred gtema: yeah. maybe not the best joke
14:05:17 frickler well you'd at least need 5G for that
14:06:23 frickler didn't cloudflare do a similar thing not long ago. redundant fibres but all patched through one single rack ... that some poor person got ordered to clean up
14:07:26 gtema yeah, in this case it seem to have happened outside
14:12:57 mordred gtema: while I've got you here - feel like an easy review: https://review.opendev.org/#/c/736058/ ?
14:13:11 gtema sure
14:13:56 gtema done
14:14:01 mordred gtema: while I've got you here - feel like an easy review: https://review.opendev.org/#/c/736058/ ?!
14:14:03 mordred gah
14:14:05 mordred gtema: thanks!
14:14:11 mordred (stupid up arrow)
14:14:35 mordred gtema: also - if you want a more fun review: https://review.opendev.org/#/c/737608/
14:14:53 gtema wow, it actually really work in LimeChat XD
14:39:37 dtantsur mordred: hey, does OSC automatically pick up keystoneauth auth plugins?
14:39:45 dtantsur i.e. can we already do --auth-type http_basic ?
14:41:56 mordred dtantsur: should do
14:42:36 dtantsur nice!
14:42:57 mordred dtantsur: if it doesn't work, there are some hooks in osc to support entering password from a prompt if it's not given... it's possible we may need to think about those
14:43:25 dtantsur we haven't tried yet :)
14:43:25 mordred but - you know - should work
14:43:31 mordred let me know how it goes!
14:52:30 dtantsur sure
14:56:35 mordred johnsom: https://review.opendev.org/#/c/737731 is good to go I think -
15:03:17 johnsom mordred Will take a look, it's marked WIP but I can ping Carlos on that.
15:18:17 mordred johnsom: yeah- I think https://review.opendev.org/#/c/735858/ being green is what we're looking for
15:18:47 openstackgerrit Merged openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: Add more useful information from exception https://review.opendev.org/736953
15:27:34 iurygregory mordred, hey o/ sorry to bother you, if you have some time today or tomorrow https://review.opendev.org/#/c/718746/ =)
15:30:27 openstackgerrit Merged openstack/ansible-collections-openstack master: Update author lines https://review.opendev.org/736307
15:34:30 mordred iurygregory: yay it's green!
15:34:37 mordred dtantsur: ^^ that seems like one for you too
15:34:42 iurygregory yup =)
15:35:22 iurygregory Im only pinging because the guy have a deadline for this >.< till end of this month...
15:37:47 mordred iurygregory: it looks reasonable to me
15:37:59 iurygregory cool \o/
16:20:03 elmiko dtantsur, gtema_ , mordred , we've been sent an invitation to add a slide about the api sig for the upcoming openstack year in review slide deck, and this is the 10 year anniversary special. i'm not sure we have much to mention in a full slide about the work that the api sig has done in the last year, but i am wondering if the sdk sig is doing something and if perhaps we could combine efforts?
16:20:34 dtantsur elmiko: we can mention our precious microversioning as our achievement :)
16:21:02 elmiko hahaha
16:21:18 elmiko that and finally getting to merge the service discovery docs?
16:21:20 gtema_ it's not yet merged in it's last form ;-)
16:36:50 dtantsur yep
16:38:23 elmiko i plan on merging the service discovery stuff tomorrow if no -1's appear
16:38:55 gtema_ cool
16:41:48 openstackgerrit Monty Taylor proposed openstack/openstacksdk master: Add support for multiple image stores https://review.opendev.org/737845
17:32:58 frickler mordred: would you know an answer to this? person sadly already has left, but might still be good to fix that link http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/irclogs/%23openstack/latest.log.html#t2020-06-24T16:04:51
17:35:03 mordred hrm. we should ask ajaeger
17:39:02 mordred diablo_rojo_phon: ^^ do you know where teh first-app stuff has gone? we need to do two things: a) update the link from openstack.org/appdev to something real - b) make that thing use openstacksdk and not libcloud
17:39:57 diablo_rojo_phon I do not actually.
17:40:05 diablo_rojo_phon I can do some digging though.
17:40:09 mordred darn. I think firstapp may not exist anymore
17:40:25 diablo_rojo_phon It might not..
17:40:37 mordred diablo_rojo_phon: maybe as a temporary thing we can get the website folks to update the link on openstack.org/appdev to point to https://docs.openstack.org/openstacksdk/latest/user/index.html instead
17:40:52 mordred and then at least it won't be broken until we can figure out an actual story
17:41:31 diablo_rojo_phon Yeah can definitely do that.
17:41:37 diablo_rojo_phon I'll go mention it now.
17:41:37 mordred diablo_rojo_phon: woot - thanks!
