09:58:02 flanders_ Perhaps via PublicCloud-WG?
09:58:02 seanhandley ok
09:58:21 seanhandley Well, we do have a meeting at 2pm UTC tomorrow
09:58:31 seanhandley maybe a bit late for your TZ
09:58:36 seanhandley but could work ok for mordred
09:58:40 flanders_ The chairs might be keen to have useable SDK their customers can use?
09:58:52 seanhandley definitely flanders_
09:59:19 seanhandley I think Gophercloud is a good one to focus on as well - given that Terraform uses it
09:59:22 flanders_ +1 re pulling @mordred into publicCloud-WG call!
09:59:33 seanhandley Mike from SuperGiant.io is interested in chatting btw so feel free to ping him an email
09:59:47 flanders_ +1 re GopherCloud, chatting with Joe Tpjian next!
10:00:00 seanhandley I think he's mike [at] supergiant [dot] io
10:00:10 seanhandley cool cool :)
10:00:17 flanders_ @seanhandley: thanks re SuperGiant intro!
10:00:36 flanders_ Have a good day o/
10:00:38 seanhandley np - keeping count on those beer IOUs :D
10:00:45 seanhandley Have a nice eve o/

10:03:32 carthaca Good bye
10:39:24 kuzko hey people, i'm currently trying the openstack sdk and got a weird sslv3 issue, can I have someone pointing me in the right direction?
10:41:32 kuzko trace : https://pastebin.com/4k0tnKX4 .. am I missing libs or something?
10:57:07 seanhandley kuzko: When you say "SDK" can you be more specific ?
10:57:14 seanhandley i.e. where did you download it from
10:57:26 seanhandley that backtrace refers to indus-demo-eric/SDK-Nuabee
10:58:05 kuzko yup that's my project path, but it uses openstack libraries
10:58:18 kuzko installed with pip
10:59:49 kuzko https://pastebin.com/4teuNX12 that's the way I import those libs, should I use something else?
11:01:59 kuzko I followed this : https://dev.cloudwatt.com/fr/doc/sdk/sdk-python.html
11:07:36 kuzko seanhandley : I don't even know if i'm in the right place to ask shuch question, google is not helpful, requests lib is intalled with [security] ...
11:24:47 flanders_ @kuzko: have a look at shade sdk
11:29:35 kuzko ok, well, that's another sdk, I get it, but this doesn't really help on that issue, did you guys never had connexion issues?
11:34:59 seanhandley Sure kuzko
11:35:17 seanhandley But without familiarity of the code in question it's hard for us to help :)
11:36:09 seanhandley Judging by the cloudwatt link you shared, this code is using the individual openstack client libraries
11:37:18 seanhandley Can you share your code online somewhere?
11:37:34 seanhandley and also your connection details for openstack (except for username/password)
12:10:01 kuzko hang on I'm gonna ask if I can share part of the code, but, yes the code is using the individual client libraries... is ther antoher way? (except for that shade thing ^^)
12:17:10 seanhandley Yeah, I recommend Shade
12:17:27 seanhandley It's very nicely designed
12:19:07 seanhandley if you're doing simple operations then it's perfect (create an instance, give it an IP, destroy it etc)

13:43:37 GreenBlood Hey guys I think I found a bug in the shade library
13:44:59 GreenBlood In the openstackcloud.py file, in the userdata section (function _encode_server_userdata), the userdata is tested with isinstance() twice, but the second time the variable name is "text" and not "userdata"
13:45:27 GreenBlood and text being not defined, the code crashes. I changed "text" to "userdata" locally and it seems to work
13:47:06 GreenBlood https://github.com/openstack-infra/shade/blob/master/shade/openstackcloud.py#L5618 here
13:47:32 mordred GreenBlood: looking ...
13:47:44 GreenBlood thanks
13:50:35 mordred GreenBlood: yes. that is definitely a bug - you wanna send a patch? or want me to just fix it?
13:51:34 GreenBlood I don't have a github acc at the moment so if you want to handle the stuff go for it
13:59:02 mordred GreenBlood: https://review.openstack.org/480592 patch up - thanks!
14:00:31 GreenBlood neat :) thanks for the quick reply

14:50:08 snecklifter Hello sdkers, is it possible to get a review on a backport pls https://review.openstack.org/#/c/480595/
14:50:10 snecklifter thanks
15:03:57 seanhandley snecklifter: I spy an ale fan :-)
15:04:28 snecklifter seanhandley: thank goodness _someone_ recognises it
15:06:35 snecklifter seanhandley: only problem is, they moved production when the town flooded (understandable) and its completely changed character
15:07:03 seanhandley It's a while since I had a Sneck Lifter tbh...
15:07:06 snecklifter seanhandley: much lighter, a shadow of the dark mighty force it used to be
15:07:07 seanhandley don't often see it on the shelves
15:07:12 seanhandley ah that's a shame
15:07:23 seanhandley You can't make the same beer in a different place
15:07:26 seanhandley same with whisky
15:07:36 snecklifter seanhandley: you didnt used to be able to see through it, used the same process as guiness
15:07:42 snecklifter seanhandley: ACK
15:07:45 seanhandley it's just not possible to get every aspect of the process the same between locations
15:07:59 seanhandley ahh and now it's filtered and transparent?
15:08:14 snecklifter not far off, very light
15:08:41 snecklifter but I kept the name as my internet handle because Americans cant pronounce it
15:09:11 snecklifter lolol, jk, because its unique and unlike my actual name I can be tracked down with ease
15:09:20 seanhandley heh
15:09:26 seanhandley things have changed
15:09:30 seanhandley Americans have good beer now
15:09:42 snecklifter seanhandley: now to business, can you +1 my backport?
15:09:47 seanhandley heheh
15:09:50 snecklifter seanhandley: true, we now steal their ideas
15:09:55 mordred seanhandley: actually a surprisingly large amount of it
15:09:58 seanhandley Will review for beer
15:10:09 snecklifter seanhandley: ok, will buy you one at next meetup
15:10:15 seanhandley deal :D
15:11:31 mordred seanhandley: btw- almost done with the service-types publication stuff ...
15:11:46 mordred seanhandley: you can see examples of the files that will be published at:
15:11:48 mordred http://logs.openstack.org/41/478541/2/check/gate-service-types-authority-validate/cad9923/
15:11:59 seanhandley oh cool - I'll take a look
15:12:01 mordred and they'll be at https://service-types.openstack.org
15:13:04 seanhandley what does the `reverse` key represent mordred?
15:15:20 seanhandley and the `forward` key, come to think of it :D
15:19:02 mordred seanhandley: easy forward and reverse lookups - basically, to consume the raw data in services, pretty much everyone would need to build a lookup table in code - so we just make it at build time :)
15:19:23 mordred seanhandley: forward is "given this official name, give me the list of aliases in preference order"
15:19:37 mordred samueldmq: reverse is "given this alias, give me the official name"
15:19:41 mordred gah
