09:23:43 cdent yes, it is ignored on purpose. the idead is that when you do a GET the generation is included, so if you want to PUT that back you don’t have to worry about removing the generation

Normally it would be via keystoneauth1.loading.register_auth_conf_options, but I don't see anywhere in cinder that's being done for a [glance] section, directly or indirectly. Perhaps someone in #openstack-cinder could shed some light on that.
