17:59:59	ivve	hi guys, i was wondering if anyone here has an inside information about how openstack plays together with ceph using EC. more specifically the choise of data pools. in ceph there is something called rbd_default_data_pool but it only allows for 1 data pool.. unfortunately undocumented function and i can't find too much info about it..

16:10:32	acormier	Hi all. I'm on Openstack Newton with a Ceph backend. I'm trying to debug why my Nova ephemeral disks are not taking advantage of copy on write since the images are also backed in Ceph (there is no parent: tag in rbd info <vm_id>_disk.
16:11:10	acormier	Almost all my VM's are backed from the same image so this would offer a HUGE savings in storage and start up time.
