14:00:42 opendevmeet The meeting name has been set to 'cyborg'
14:00:47 jgilaber Hi! Who is around today?
14:00:56 melwitt o/
14:01:05 chandankumar o/
14:01:11 jgilaber while we gather, feel free to add topics to the agenda https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/openstack-cyborg-irc-meeting#L53
14:01:31 jgilaber courtesy ping: sean-k-mooney amoralej bogdando rlandy skovili
14:01:36 rlandy o/
14:02:04 morenod o/
14:02:10 amoralej o/
14:02:51 jgilaber ok, let's start with the first topic
14:02:57 jgilaber #topic PTG Planning
14:03:04 jgilaber #link https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/cyborg-2027.1-ptg
14:03:31 jgilaber the etherpad already has some agenda planned, thanks rlandy for that
14:04:06 jgilaber we have retro, the nova cross session and two topics
14:04:10 rlandy yeah - we have place for other topics if they arise
14:04:17 jgilaber does anybody has any new topic to add?
14:04:44 jgilaber we don't need to address it here, just a reminder that the time slots are available if needed
14:04:48 rlandy we can keep the last slot available for anything that emerges from the nove cross session
14:05:04 rlandy open question for the team is around pci grouping
14:05:35 rlandy it's a nova feature but might be covered by some engineers on the cyborg team
14:05:35 melwitt not directly but I've addressed spec review feedback from Sean on the services spec if anyone might be interested to take a look before PTG https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cyborg-specs/+/1001999
14:05:39 melwitt in case it might unearth any PTG discussion points
14:06:03 jgilaber I'll try to review it melwitt, I haven't looked at it yet
14:06:53 chandankumar thanks melwitt for sharing the spec, I will add it to my list
14:07:01 rlandy also side note - we should cancel the IRC meeting the week of PTG
14:07:35 jgilaber good point, I'll add it to next week's topic list
14:08:02 rlandy I can chair next week's call as it will likely be about finalizing topics - and the week after we cancel
14:08:21 jgilaber sounds good, thanks rlandy
14:08:34 jgilaber any other comment on PTG planning?
14:08:53 rlandy will confirm with sean-k-mooney when they are back - they may have topics or comments
14:09:01 rlandy since they are PTL
14:09:17 rlandy we need to update the etherpad link - I will take care of that
14:09:54 jgilaber sorry, which link?
14:10:36 melwitt probably the PTG website etherpad link?
14:10:48 melwitt (to the cyborg etherpad)
14:11:16 jgilaber ah, from here https://ptg.opendev.org/etherpads.html ?
14:11:30 rlandy ack
14:11:32 melwitt when they create the website they autogenerate etherpad names for all the projects and it might not match the name we used
14:11:56 rlandy everyone's link is old atm
14:11:58 melwitt (and it can be updated by us)
14:12:04 rlandy waiting for the general update
14:12:22 jgilaber right, good point
14:12:38 jgilaber anything else on PTG before moving on?
14:13:48 rlandy nothing from my side
14:14:21 jgilaber #topic Reviews
14:14:26 jgilaber we don't have any listed
14:14:34 jgilaber does anyone want to bring up any patch?
14:15:13 chandankumar I have reproposed the nvme spec 1005716: Repropose NVMe secure cleanup spec for 2027.1 | https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cyborg-specs/+/1005716
14:15:33 chandankumar few of the sections got updated based on the implementation and review feedback.
14:16:28 jgilaber I just started reviewing that before the meeting, I hope to go through it today
14:16:33 chandankumar Like no db access to compute agent, RPC chnages and upgrade compatibility
14:16:47 chandankumar thanks Joan!
14:18:13 jgilaber no problem
14:18:19 jgilaber any other review?
14:19:34 jgilaber #topic Bugs
14:19:44 jgilaber we have one bug to triage
14:19:47 jgilaber #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/openstack-cyborg/+bug/2168261
14:20:04 jgilaber I created this last week
14:20:48 jgilaber I was looking at the API docs and code and noticed that there is no definition of what is a valid device profile
14:21:03 jgilaber e.g you can create one without any resource profile
14:21:24 jgilaber yet if you try to use it the code assumes device profiles will always have one
14:21:36 melwitt looks valid to me ... and surprising that API schema validation does not catch? or do we not have API schema validation haha
14:21:37 chandankumar good finding,
14:22:03 chandankumar I never tried creating device profile with traits only.
14:22:13 jgilaber we have some validation, but no schema I think
14:22:47 jgilaber https://github.com/openstack/cyborg/blob/dfa0b80ca7060a799db191f73c32b5d9bd577103/cyborg/api/controllers/v2/device_profiles.py#L227-L247
14:23:07 jgilaber validates the name if present, but does not raise any error if absent
14:23:10 melwitt thanks (I'm seeing it now as I continue to read through, sorry about that)
14:24:01 jgilaber no problem
14:24:06 melwitt I would say this is Medium or Low
14:24:19 chandankumar medium sounds good
14:24:25 jgilaber +1
14:24:31 jgilaber setting it to medium
14:25:03 jgilaber #topic Open discussion
14:25:14 jgilaber any last minute topic?
14:25:14 chandankumar When you propose the fix, can you also add a negative test where user can create device profile using traits only
14:25:24 chandankumar *negative tempest test
14:25:52 jgilaber chandankumar, sure, I'll try to remember
14:27:29 jgilaber any other point to bring up before closing?
14:29:14 jgilaber ok, looks like we're done for today
14:29:30 jgilaber rlandy++ vounteered to chair next week, thanks!
14:29:35 jgilaber thanks all for attending!
