Hi all
We have an oddball which I hope someone might cast some light on.
Vfp8. We have a 1-page report that has been in use without problems at
other customers for several years. Now, one customer is complaining that
when they print it (straight to the printer, no preview) around half the
time it just prints a blank sheet. 2nd time around it will print OK. This
reportedly happens from different PCs. They all print to the same printer,
one of these big all-in-1 printer copier things, though they claim it also
happens with other printers. We've tried a fresh copy of the report and
setting/removing printer info in the report itself, all with no apparent
effect. Users are running XP.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Yes... they have changed something! At a guess the page size/margins on
their systems.
Check that windows update hasn't stuck a driver update in, or that some
are direct and some via a servers AD printer entry.
If not the above, try pulling the power to the printer (not turning it
off as that seldom clears settings these days) and then check that they
haven't buggered around with any settings (has an engineer out to do a
fuser replacement etc).
I have a report (a contract) that has the heading information in each
record and each record contains lines of the contract. I want the
heading information to print only on the first page. I set up a data
grouping on the contract id and expected the heading information to
print in the group header - like it does on all of my other reports.
Everything prints fine except the group header. The space is there but
it is blank.
Done a lot of reports - never seen this before.

1. Check to see if there is any "Print When" logic in the objects in the
data group header.
2. Try increasing the height and width of each object ever so slightly just
to see if it's a matter of the objects not being big enough to accommodate
the data it's trying to print.

Check the "print repeated items" option in the Print When dialogue

Hello Cathy! If I move the header information into the page header it
prints fine. There is a heading on the first page followed by the
header information I want and it looks fine. The problem with that is
that the page header prints on each page. If I could print the page
header only on the first page, my problem would be solved.
Is there a way to do that?
Thanks!

I put it all in the title band and it works like I want it to.
Thanks,
