16:56:08 edleafe cdent: elmiko: when adding reviewers I found this typo ^^
16:56:24 edleafe I think this qualifies as a slam dunk trivial fix
16:56:45 cdent slammed

20:02:05 briancurtin is Slawek Kaplonski in here? if so, please don’t add tons of names to reviews—half of those people don’t work on openstack anymore and some of them never worked on this project at all

04:00:51 ldl Hi, friends, why I can not forloop the conn.compute.servers() ?
04:05:34 ldl I done it
06:56:48 ldl Where to find the conn.compute.servers() doc? if I have a server, how to use it? such as attach floating ip, stop it, delete it?
08:46:46 openstackgerrit Rui Chen proposed openstack/python-openstackclient feature/osc4: [Compute]Make column content readable for both human and machine https://review.openstack.org/493814
08:59:33 seanhandley ldl: Did you find the doc you were looking for?
08:59:57 ldl I think its simple
09:00:24 ldl https://developer.openstack.org/sdks/python/openstacksdk/users/guides/cluster/profile_type.html
09:00:24 ldl like this
09:00:47 ldl whether only two method to ussage?
09:13:22 seanhandley I'm not familiar with cluster profiles
09:13:46 seanhandley From your earlier question it sounds like you want the intro doc for compute
09:14:15 seanhandley ldl: https://developer.openstack.org/sdks/python/openstacksdk/users/guides/compute.html
09:14:30 seanhandley there's other intro user guides here: https://developer.openstack.org/sdks/python/openstacksdk/users/index.html#user-guides
09:14:54 ldl I know this, but such as the attach floating ip method,
09:15:35 ldl or attach interface in the dashboard, I did not saw in these guides
09:18:01 seanhandley ok, you need to attach a floating IP
09:20:59 seanhandley ldl: https://developer.openstack.org/draft/firstapp-openstacksdk/getting_started.html
09:21:10 seanhandley Sorry that wasn't easier to find
09:21:28 seanhandley there's an ongoing initiative to release clear 'First App' instructions for a number of SDKS
09:21:39 ldl its ok, i will read detailly
09:21:41 seanhandley but the openstacksdk doc is still in draft mode
09:21:52 seanhandley I think the examples you want are quite a way down the page
09:22:29 seanhandley but there's definitely code showing how to attach a floating IP :-)
09:23:03 ldl in the source code, right?
09:23:08 ldl I will read it
12:44:42 openstackgerrit OpenStack Proposal Bot proposed openstack/openstackclient master: Updated from global requirements https://review.openstack.org/502458
13:14:21 briancurtin ldl: that max retries error is something i’ve seen before but can’t recreate myself. not really sure what to tell you there. probably has to do with the mess of different ways that things are configured on the server side
13:15:18 briancurtin we spent years chasing our tail on figuring out what endpoints had what and what could be relied on, etc. it’s not great
14:19:05 GreenBlood Hey guys, is it possible at the moment to set a volume bootable through Shade ?
14:19:36 GreenBlood I can do it through the CLI so my cloud's api supports it but i cannot find this option in shade
14:21:01 mordred GreenBlood: looks like that's missing- should be easy to add though
14:22:00 GreenBlood yeah thats what i was thinking. I don't know if its much used as a feature generally but in my company we use it a lot to boot from custom volumes
14:24:46 GreenBlood mordred: i just noticed the --bootable switch in the "openstack volume create" help, so is it possible to use the '**kwargs' from shade.create_volume() to take advantage of that ?
14:25:54 GreenBlood or is it just expecting cinder arguments
14:27:24 mordred GreenBlood: remote: https://review.openstack.org/502479 Add method to set bootable flag on volumes
14:27:53 mordred GreenBlood: I was just looking at the api docs for cinder, and I don't see any cinder args for that - but we could also certainly add a bootable flag to create_volume too
14:28:42 GreenBlood I guess the openstack cli just does like "cinder create" then "cinder set-bootable" yeah
14:31:57 GreenBlood thanks mordred, for being so responsive each time ! :)
14:32:54 mordred GreenBlood: sure thing! remote: https://review.openstack.org/502479 Add method to set bootable flag on volumes is update with a bootable flag on create ...
14:33:11 mordred GreenBlood: I need to add some tests for that before landing it, but we should be able to get that in for you pretty quickly
14:41:45 GreenBlood niiiice
14:54:45 openstackgerrit Kristi Nikolla proposed openstack/keystoneauth master: WIP - Global scope https://review.openstack.org/502482
15:14:01 GreenBlood mordred: just noticed there's a missing comma
15:14:12 GreenBlood line 5369
15:14:18 GreenBlood raises a syntax error
15:14:22 GreenBlood at the end of the line
15:14:41 GreenBlood otherwise works perfectly :)
15:18:33 mordred GreenBlood: woot!
15:19:08 mordred GreenBlood: thanks! fixed
15:19:13 GreenBlood np
15:19:35 med_ is mordred in Renaissance?

20:37:56 sdague cdent: what is the api-ref topic in api sig room now?
20:38:03 sdague and is it something I should pop over for
20:38:09 cdent sdague: don’t know, I’m in the tc/swg room
20:38:18 sdague cdent: ok
20:38:33 sdague ah, right, I should come over there. What room is that?
20:38:43 sdague I've been over in policy world
20:40:10 cdent sdague: not sure of name, beyond the coffee near the registration desk in the basement

03:48:49 htaccess hello openstack network commands are returning "'NoneType' object is not iterable" for me on 3.12.0, this does not happen with the exact same setup using 3.11.0
03:48:57 htaccess is that a known issue?
03:49:41 htaccess eg on openstack network create and openstack subnet create
03:50:18 htaccess the resource is created but normal output is replaced with that output
04:01:47 ldl is there some design document or architecture diagram for openstacksdk ?
04:07:23 dtroyer htaccess: compare the versions of the dependencies, ie openstacksdk, os-client-config, cliff, osc-lib. This is not a problem I have seen iin a while
04:10:55 ldl Ask a question, what's the meaning of `:orphan:` in the openstacksdk/doc/glossary.rst?
11:51:37 openstackgerrit Merged openstack/python-openstacksdk master: Updated from global requirements https://review.openstack.org/502747
14:22:16 briancurtin ldl: orphan just means it’s not linked to from anywhere else, and putting that removed a warning we kept getting about it. i believe we did that because the glossary got out of sync and perhaps wasn’t too helpful overall. i can’t remember, but we should maybe just remove that file entirely
14:23:44 briancurtin ldl: also, as for design/architecture, no. there have been things we’ve passed around over the years either here in IRC or on the wiki or during summits, but there’s no stated diagrams. what do you need one for and what are you trying to accomplish?
