21:13:00 klindgren Hi I am having an issue trying to use openstack client to use a normal auth token to do things.
21:14:06 klindgren I can successfully get the token. But when I call into services using --os-token and --os-url, Openstack client throws errors all over the place
21:15:19 klindgren Doing something like a openstack server list or openstack server-show. Blows up in glance client trying to parse out the os-url that is meant for nova and blowing up on the version/tenant_id piece with a float error.
21:16:34 klindgren trying to do openstack port list --server <uuid> fails because again, it tries to call into nova with the neutron endpoint information and when that fails, it says that the VM doesn't exist, when in fact it does.
21:18:00 klindgren So - considering the fact that once you have an auth_token the service catalog no longer gets returned, and it seems like in openstack client some calls require multiple calls into other clients, which needs different os-urls. How is this suppose to work?
21:18:18 klindgren Because right now - it just doesn't at all.
21:51:22 dtroyer klindgren: that token auth is really no longer much of an option for the reasons you stated. It only works with commands that talk to a single endpoint. It was meant for bootstrapping use initially, not for general use.
