Sorry Jack, but I'm afraid I can't offer any other ideas. I think the other
replies are on line with what I would suggest, being that the DBC header is
corrupt in some way. This may take a commercial utility to correct. I've
never been too keen on hacking HEX codes myself.

Yes I tried validate database recover. I get a message saying it can't open
the
table; would I like to delete the object or cancel the validation.
I really don't know what caused this to happen. And the user has no backup
of
this 16MB table with its 17MB FPT.
Any other ideas?
