Hi Jürgen

Thanks for that - in my case Tools~Options~File Locations showed

*Default Directory as (Not Used)* but if I click on Modify I see

Location of default directory as C:\Users\pauln\Documents\!Visual FoxPro

Projects\ (greyed out) and the *Use default directory is unchecked*.

So, if the default directory is (Not Used) why is VFP actually starting

in that directory?
