I am *not* sorry it has come to this. Pete contributes absolutely

nothing positive to the list. He just throws bomb after bomb after

bomb.

The list exists because of a large group of very generous technical

folks, willing to share their knowledge for the benefit of all. This

group has spawned a passionate, vocal subgroup on matters politic. I

have gone on and off the "tech-only" list, alternately amused and

irritated by them. Mostly, I am amused, and enjoy hearing alternate

viewpoints, so I have stayed on the full list. OTOH, I have active

twit filters, especially for Pete.

A couple of months ago, I wrote a rant about him, after seeing the

usual raft of statistics, posting twice as much as anyone else, and

all of it OT (including some not labeled as such). I was advocating a

voluntary moratorium among all of us on any reply to him. Just let his

topics sit there. Knowing Ed's abhorrence of censorship and rules, I

deleted the message without posting it.

I think the sanction should be permanent. The tech part comes first.

If one can't contribute anything tech, why be here except to throw

bombs?

I have enjoyed this community for almost as long as it has existed. I

don't want Pete here. I am sick of him.
