Hi Jerry,
All trains are "electric" think diesel-electric. And the plane is
turbine electric. There are batteries, but they are kept charged by a
turbine engine that burns on board fuel.
The "electric" trains are also powered by a generator, although it is
located on the grid somewhere rather than on board.
