I have this vague memory that someone wrote a VFP "chat" client...

We use a pretty basic messenger from www.softros.com I don't administer it so I don't know anything below the surface - but it seems to work pretty well at about $10 per user (more users, lower per user cost).

As always, YMMV...

I thought it would be valuable to be able to fire up a quick chat with someone else in my department from time to time.

Our corp overseers though clock all that (don't blame them), but if I could manage to keep the server in house and not even try to get to the outside world, they a) won't even know about it and b) prolly couldn't do anything about it if they did...

Anyone have something that does this?

I just tried Pidgin but can't get it to fire up, but me thinks it's because it's trying to go out to the world and the firewall is blocking it...
