To translate the anchors from what MS Word thinks of an anchor to what

a PDF thinks of an anchor requires a fairly intimate link between the

two documents. When you're asking Word to "print" it is just rendering

fonts and colors into a bitmap, which is why you get the

non-responsive, but colored links. A relatively expensive solution

might be to use something like Adobe Acrobat which has a Word add-on

that makes the connection. The cheaper solution might be to use

OpenOffice.org, which has an "Export to PDF" built into it.

Other applications may have these features built in, but I know the

recent OpenOffice.org has an options dialog in the "Export to PDF..."

menu item to make links work as you would expect.
