As far as I know everything about this message is in plain text. I am
running Outlook 2000 SR1.
Allen sent me a reply off list that appeared to be, in fact, HTML. Sure
enough if you right click then View Source it appears as HTML. No other
messages I seem to have will do this.
Is it because each of us have different settings that allow us to reply in
the format we received, or does it convert the original so it only APPEARS
to be in HTML?
I'm stumped, and I hate HTML email.... any help provided to make me an
"ascii" only kinda guy would be greatly appreciated.

Your mail is being sent as a multi-part MIME file, with both plain and
HTML versions. I don't use Outlook, so I can't tell you how to set it to
text only.

You can't go from plain to HTML; only the other way around. Different
mail clients can be set to handle dual-type messages such as yours
either way. You should also have an option to reply with the same kind
as the original, or to always reply with one specific type.

I don't "hate" HTML email; I just think it's a waste. Sorta like having
fins on a car <g>. (oh jeez, I'm gonna hear it from the classic car
lovers in the crowd!!)

Dear Mr. Leafe -
I had brazed on my tail fins on my yellow 83 volvo 240 wagon and it has
VASTLY improved the handling during high-speed maneuvers and tail-spin
corner handling. Unfortunately the tail fins are also used by the pigeons
in my parking garage as instruments of death - they fly right into a fin and
get split in two [see, I actually keep my fins sharpened]. For more details
and photos see my web site at www.blowmeuptom.com

My company just changed from GroupWise to Outlook. I am testing to see if
this e-mail message will be delivered as text or RTF which is what the
setting states that is what will happen. Of course, there isn't a way to
change to globally.
This is a test.
It is only a test.
Had this been an actual emergency, we would have fled in terror, and you
would not have been informed.
just testing...
