According to http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~VFPDataTypes
create table ttt ( f1 g )
append blank
append general f1 from temp.txt
use
ll = fopen("F:\ttt.dbf",12)
fseek(ll,43)
fwrite(ll,'M')
fclose(ll)
It didn't work. When I USE ttt and DISPLAY STRU, it's still a General field.
What's wrong with the sample codes?

Could it be changes in the tables between VFP versions.

Are you sure you opened the low level with write privileges? Fwrite will not error, it will return 0. My testing in VFP9 works.

Never mind, I didn't notice "f:\" in "f:\ttt.dbf" when I cut-and-paste
the codes.
Sorry!! :)
