Hey folks,
This pops up Every Single Time I run this EXE - but, of courseits an Exe I
keep updating.
I swear that in the past - like on my home PC running Vista - that I turned
this things Off - some security setting in Windows. But, I just can't
remember how to get to that setting.
Anyone have a clue?
It just becomes annoying - coming up EVERY single time I test this app.

Hi Kurt,
It's because the executable is not signed. When you figure out how to do
this please let me know :-)
You can disable this by adding the path into the relevant Internet Explorer
zone.
(probably Trusted sites or Local intranet).

Yeah - I remember the Thread on here a while ago - where everyone was
discussing this topic - re:Signed.
I thought that there was a Windows Setting - some strange and cryptic
abbreviation like - UART. I think supposedly turning that off would stop
this annoyance as well.
If nobody comes back with that particular thing I am looking for - then I
shall try your suggestion Paul.

Off the top of my head I think you can right click on the exe and tell
Windows the exe is safe.
You can also google for Doug Hennig executable signing as I believe he
has some info on this. You might find it here:

Hey Frank - thanks for the input. When I right-clicked on it - I didn't see
it as an option, nor when I go to the Properties. Even so - I think it would
be a moot point - since, everytime I recompiled it - I would probably have
to do the Same thing.
So - yeah - I may be checking into Doug signing thing - that may be VERY
Useful! As well as for Paul!!!

I always saw this as an attempt at extortion by VeriSign and those like
them. Pay $3000+ for something so that my software didn't pop up this
bullshit notice? No thanks... (Actually I'm not sure of the costs, but
at the time when I looked, it was crazy.)

For example: http://codesigning.ksoftware.net/ uses Comodo which is how we
sign ours. Who we purchased the signature from to allow us to sign our
executable files, I don't know.

Wasn't it something like thousands of dollars when it first came out?
And of course, Vista's super-tight/sensitive security settings
exacerbated the need/market for this.
I can't tell you how many professional instructions I've seen where it
says "If you get this warning, just click OK." So much for the extortion.
