Hi Foxgang
I have needed to test to see if a var is an array or not. Now I assume
Foxpro knows else the error is not an array would not pop up. But is there
an isArray type command to avoid is not an array errors? I don't think there
is but how do you guys handle this other than try catch.
Al

I use aLen() in a try/catch

Hi Dave
I guessed as much but I wondered if I missed something. As FoxPro knows if
it's an array or not I thought maybe there was a proper way rather than
relying on errors. So be it. When you bringing the kite over for a visit?

Or you could use
Type("aLen(vVar)")
which will return "N" if vVar is an array and "U" if it isn't

When this damned weather gets better, I've already aborted 2 cross channel trips this year. Whatever happened to global warming ... it isn't up here in the North!.

TYPE("vVar",1) will return 'A' if vVar is an array
(and 'C' if it is a collection).
Gérard.

Jean,
Flying in bad weather is no problem, it's just the landing.
My instrument rating only clears me down to 500ft and the minima on both occasions was about 50ft!!! Maybe I should have used a lead weight on a length of string to confirm the runway was there!! lol

Dave and Gérard
Thanks for the ideas. Now there is a test that won't produce an error. Great
stuff, just what I wanted.
Dave
Just listen out for "Down a bit"
