It looks like cameras up above so maybe external. Sound like a swarm of bees

Watching the vid, I got the impression they had embedded sensors to keep
their distance from each other.
Conventional drones are controlled by civilian employees from McDill AFB
in Tampa, where I am taking Linux classes at a community college.
One of the kids in the class wants to join the Marines, having stewed
since she was 8 over 911. She was in ROTC all through High School and is
a top-rated rifle marksperson.
Her mother is pleading with her to stay home, thus she has not joined
yet. I told her she could get the job as a drone driver and in essence
do both.

Its possible they are similar to the AR drone controlled by ipads. so they
will be controlled by a computer. Its also possible is fake and does not
exist.

How would you like a swarm of those coming at you, each carrying an explosive charge?

The noise would be bad enough. Not sure about the size though. Don't think
they would have a large payload. Which is also another reason to think they
are controlled externally.

I wish I could see the video right now. But, of course - here at work -
YouTube is Blocked.
A number of years ago I read a great fiction book by Crichton - which
was great - called Prey - and it had to do with swarms of Nanoparticles.
It was also cool - since he got VERY Much into the Techy side of things
- and even involving programming. So - even though its fiction - I think
some of you here may get a kick out of it:
http://www.amazon.com/Prey-Michael-Crichton/dp/0066214122/ref=sr_1_7?s=b
ooks&ie=UTF8&qid=1328646373&sr=1-7
As for me - I will have to try and view this Swarm video at home!

Excellent - as I am SURE you will Enjoy it!
If I remember right - I think he even put a chunk of computer code into the text of the novel - as part of the story. So - a fiction book like this should really thrill most programmers - at least those like myself who like reading Kick Arse Fiction!
