What a sad day. Nothing like the smell of opening up a fresh cartridge of film from the yellow box. Polaroid is in Chapter 11 and now Kodak will join them.

Times are changing. The digital age is exerting itself into the 22
century. Attendance and revenue at movie theaters are being impacted,
as people are choosing to stay at home and watch movies streamed from
Netflex, and other similar businesses.

I think of the 21 century as the coming of age of the digital
revolution. Movies, news, music, pictures, etc. are all moving toward
digital delivery and presentation. By the 22 century, digital will
probably have run its course, and something better will be coming of
age. LOL

Hi Leland,
As usual, you missed the point of my post. The words "Why wait?" were
the punchline of George Eastman's suicide note - mentioned in the article.
But you are onto something with the "something better" idea. How about a
mental screenshot from your brain to your cellphone memory. Great for
IDing muggers and rapists, except that it would be attacked as "racist",
of course . . .

Sad indeed. Makes me wonder what America would be like today if General
Motors and others not bailed about and forced to file bankruptcy like
the Founding Fathers intended?

Companies rise and fall, not many can continue to evolve.
The bailout for the banks and auto makers would be like requiring people to buy film cameras and film to bail out Kodak. Time has passed Kodak by. IT's a shame because it was always voted among the best companies to work for.
Who can forget this song / commercial.

I made time to go back and read the article, and I agree with Michael.
It's a sad story.
