I seem to remember a ability to Tracing a program to a file in fpd26.
I have a problem with a program I wrote in 91 that is running at a site I
cannot get to.
I would like to recompile the program and turn the trace on and then be able
to review the file and see where it is hanging up

You may be thinking about SET COVERAGE. From what I remember reading in one
of the "What's new in VFP #" is it was added recently in the compiled
versions of the application. Either VFP 9 or 8.

I don't remember exactly, but wasn't there a SET HISTORY ON, SET HISTORY TO
filename commands in FPD?
I don't remember ever using these commands, just that they existed, so YMMV
on their usefulness.

Scratch the SET HISTORY suggestion. Looks like it was SET HISTORY TO #of
lines of history you could recall for the old pre-command window days.

Hi Jerry,
From FP, you want to open the Trace window. Turn off the Trace Between Breaks,
the Open the file you want to check out. It can be either the .PRG or the .EXE
(probably .APP, too, but I don't work in .APPs).
You can Find a line, or scroll down to it. Press Enter to set a break point.
The Debug window let's you see variables and contents.
You will need to have either the .EXE or .PRG in the search path when the
breakpoint is hit, or it will complain and not let you do anything but resume
execution.
Works like a champ if you are careful.

Hi Jerry,
kind of... There's SET DOHISTORY ON which logs all commands into the
command window. You would need to run FOXPROX.EXE to execute your
application and someone has to copy and paste the content of the command
window into a MODIFY FILE window. There isn't any tracing that writes
directly to a file, and certainly not in the compiled EXE.
