Hi Michael,
This is one of the "guilty until you prove yourself innocent" areas:
"One of the agents runs up and basically throws him down the stairs, and
he's got the cuts and bruises to show for it," said Covert, who said the
homeowner plans no lawsuit. When he was allowed to get up, agents
escorted him and watched as he used the bathroom and dressed.
The Sarasota guy used to date a girl I was working with. Now I know why
they broke up - she was too old for him, LOL.

One thing I really don't get is why you Americans need SEVEN agents with
guns drawn to arrest a single person who typically would be a middle-aged
overweight unfit man. And the whole break down the door and thrown him to
the ground routine sounds more than a touch over-the-top.

Hi Geoff,
"Kiddie Porn" is one of the bureaucratic "OK hatreds" in the US. Never
mind that sometimes it is the difference of 17 1/2 vs 18 years old.
Most perpetrators violating most laws have "constitutional protections"
and this is frustrating to certain kinds of law enforcement
personalities. But there is an informal "open season" on pedophiles and
kiddie porn users, who also have "rights" but no one pushes it.
I mean, we are talking guys (maybe gals) who got into a profession
because it had the potential for some kick butt action and now most of
the time they are constrained by all these rights . . .

I have never been able to get an encrypted wireless connection to work. No,
I don't want to spend extra money--I want to use the common-as-dirt NIC
chip in my computer and the router my ISP gives me. Is that too much to
ask? Apparently so--there are all kinds of compatibility issues rearing
their ugly heads in this area...

Hi Ken,
I don't know about not being able to get it to work, but I know all
about not even trying and just shutting it off - for exactly this
reason. No midnight visitors for me!

Simple WEP should work fairly easily. Call the tech support.

They can log on while you're using it and you'll never know.

Hi Michael,
It is disabled - no one can log on, not even me. I use it wired only.
