I can create folders in xpmode and store data from a usb flash drive, but I
cannot access folder when I'm not in XPMODE.
Is there any way to create folders I can see in either mode?
Thanks Jerry

Hi, Jerry
One thing to look out for: depending on how your drive(s) are
partitioned the drive letters may not be the same. I ran XP Mode in the
Beta, with my VM on my D: drive, which became C: when I was in XP. It
may well be that it's not on the drive you thought it was.
Also, set your options to show hidden files/folders.

I do not see any of the folders I made in XPMODE when I am not in XPMODE. I
would like to know where everything is. The drive letter in XPMODE is C:

Isn't the local drive emulated when running XPMode making it invisible when
not in it? I think that you will need to map one of your Win7 drives for
use within XPMode thereby making any data created visible from Win7.

Hi Jerry. If I may jump in here for just a moment. When you create and then
enter into the XPMode, or any other virtual operating system (I use vmware
desktop to do the same thing), you have entered a "virtual environment"
where the standard "C:\" environment is within that "C:\" drive which is a
virtual drive, and is not the "C:\" drive of the host operating system (I
use Windows 7 64 bit as the host).
So everything will be in the appropriate directory within the virtual
operating system drive. The integration features of XPMode will allow you
to exchange information (i.e.: copy and paste) between the "real" operating
system locations and the "virtual" operating system locations, but always be
mindful that those environments are not the same.
Developing in the virtual environment is otherwise practically the same as
developing in the real environment, as you will have access to other
computers, the internet, etc. There is likely to be a way to access the
virtual XP machine from the host (the "real" machine) but I have not yet
been on that road. :(
Let me stop here, as others will likely chime in with more, and perhaps
clearer explanations.
I hope this helps a little.

I think I understand that, but the transfer of information is what I am

XPMODE is like Virtual PC, is it not? (I currently don't have access to any
Windows 7 machines to tell)
Maybe this will help:

Ok
I found my drive and now I can map from xpmode.
When I explore way down at the bottom I found 2 drives, one had all of my
c:drive and the other had the folders I had added from the cmd window with
mkdir.
I'm all set now.
Thanks Jerry
