Ok guys
I have installed xpmode on my windows 7 machine.
FPDn runs fine but when I try to run one program I maintain I am getting
message too many files open, I used to use config to set files and buffers,
How do I do this in XPMODE?
Thanks Jerry

Looks to be quite similar as to what needed to be done since NT:

Just ignore the references to DataEase and note the change in the second

It's just a text file so try creating it in the \windows\system32\ folder.
You probably have to be an administrator to change/create things there.

Jerry,
I've not setup the XP Mode, I use VM's.
However, in the VM XP, you would need to edit the CONFIG.SYS in the
%SystemDrive%\
If you are able to get a full desktop with XP Mode, START - Run - NOTEPAD
%SystemDrive%\CONFIG.SYS

Thaat's because it isn't on your Windows 7 machine, it's the one inside
the emulated XP machine that XP mode uses that you need to change. You
should have a Windows Virtual PC menu option on the Windows 7 Start
Menu. As opposed to a shortcut for your application. Run that, and you
will get an XP desktop. After ensuring that you have AV installed (MSE
is good), you can find autoexec.nt and config.nt in c:\windows\system32.

Will set up and run dos fox again and let you know it works
