The American People Were Duped!
What was hailed as the biggest spending cut in history by Speaker John Boehner and the rest of the House Republican leadership was little more than an exercise in smoke and mirrors.
According to The Washington Post: "A federal budget compromise that was hailed as historic for proposing to cut about $38 billion would reduce federal spending by only $352 million this fiscal year, less than 1 percent of the bill's advertised amount, according to the Congressional Budget Office."
After promising to cut 100 BILLION dollars from the bloated federal budget and defund ObamaCare this year, House Republicans revised that figure down to 61 BILLION. Then, in an eleventh-hour "compromise" with Barack Obama and Harry Reid, Boehner and Company told us that they succeeded in getting 38.5 BILLION dollars in cuts. But when it was all said and done, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the "cuts" for this fiscal year were a paltry 352 MILLION dollars.

The bus is going off a cliff and there's no one to stop it.

Hi Michael,
Yes, the sky is indeed falling. It always is.
On the other hand, it is only money. The world has seen hyperinflation
before, and the countries where it occurred are still there. The
governments have changed, but the countries are still there.

That didn't do the people going through it any good. It was the next
generation that lucked out.

Obama has to borrow 1.5 Trillion by October to cover the budget items
already on the books. China is lightening up on U.S. bonds. We will have to
find another patsy to lend us the money. Or print more. Inflation has always
been the magic elixir for the govt. to avoid paying their debts; they pay
back with cheaper dollars. It looks good on paper but the lender does not
get back the value he started with; just more dollars.
The way the govt. calculates inflation is to include housing. House prices
are falling; viola, no inflation. It is all magic.

If the trade deficits stays in China favor. They will still want our debt , only
the interests is in question.. All currency will come home and buy goods,
services or debt. We don't have many goods or services to sell them, so that
leave bonds.
