KABUL, Afghanistan - Thousands of protesters angry over the burning of a
Quran by a Florida pastor stormed a U.N. compound Friday in northern
Afghanistan, killing at least 12 people, including eight foreigners. The
desecration of the Muslim holy book fueled resentment against the West
at a critical moment in the Afghan war."
Actually, the pastor backed down on it, several months ago. Today they
say the radical church went ahead with the original plan anyway and the
Afgan radicals on the other side of the world went postal.
Somebody say this is a joke.

Hi Mike,
Off-list reply?
If this even happened, what of the "peaceful" Christians who went ahead
with the protest after the pastor disavowed it? Seems he was on to the
danger, and sure enough.
That said, we need to declassify Islam as a religion. It is an
international political organization that poses as religion, and always
has been. Can we say "False Religion"?

Hi Dan,
In my opinion, yes. That said, there are hypocrites in each.
In Islam, the peaceful ones are the ones that are not following the
Islamic scriptures.

Yes, of course: Mine is the only True Religion, any other one is
False. How many times to I have to explain this?

Hi,
That was a reaction. Faith on Holy Quran and on Last Prophet Muhammad (Peace
Be Upon Him) are one of the pillars of Islamic beliefs. Many
people/organizations in the world are trying to hurt Muslims feeling and
indeed are responsible for harming peace, spreading mischief or corruption
in the land.

Hello, Naeem
While I do not share your beliefs (I'm an atheist myself), I accept your
sincerity. And I agree that "that was a reaction". I even agree that
"many people are trying to hurt Muslims' feelings".
But I most certainly do NOT agree that those people are responsible for
the killings. They only provided an excuse. The people responsible for
the killings are a) the killers themselves and b) the Muslim religious
"leaders" (whatever you call them) who told them it was appropriate.
Further down the list, Mr. Karzai, who publicized the Quran burning (it
was kept very quiet here in the US), and the idiot who did the burning
at the very last.
My point is that the "reaction" was all out of proportion to the
"cause". The fact that someone of one, halfway around the world, burned
a book your faith considers holy in no way justifies a mob attacking the
office of a completely different country and killing innocent people.
We assume that the majority of your people are peaceful. But we wonder
if that can be true when we read of these incidents when bloodthirsty
mobs attack and kill innocent people because someone, somewhere else,
did something that "offended" them. If you burn a Bible today, I can
guarantee you that a Christian mob will NOT attack the nearest Mosque,
and if one tried they would NOT be encouraged by our government.
Peace
Dan Covill
