it's still in prerelease at this moment [for public beta testing for current
xBase++ users]
but .
the IDE is similar to VFP
and
there will be a linux port sometime this year .

I used xbase++ back in late 90's for 3 projects for a clipper port. mondo

My bank uses a card reader to log into on-line banking and money
transfers. To use, I pop in my card, enter my pin and the reader
shows a 8 digit code which I enter on the site. For transfers I have
to enter the amount too.
Can't help thinking that if all banks used a similar system this type
of bank fraud would be non-existent.

That looks pretty cool.
I would guess that over time the cost of those devices was far less
then losses due to online key grabbers
Thanks for the heads up. I am going to ask my bank when they are
going to get them.

I use that too and I only wish it could be used for online purchases
instead of the awful Barclays "Verified By Visa?" service which requires
me to enter (e.g.) the 2nd, 4th and 11th characters if my 12-character
password ... I HATE that system with a vengeance ...

My bank requires that I use an ATM card for all transactions at the bank even if I'm at a teller station.
Why not extend that security to the web and require a rather inexpensive card reader at home?
