"Initial jobless claims increase UNEXPECTEDLY"
- - -
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The number of newly laid-off workers seeking
unemployment benefits rose last week, a sign that jobs remain scarce
even as the economy recovers.
The Labor Department said Thursday that first-time claims increased by
18,000 in the week ending April 3, to a seasonally adjusted 460,000.
That's worse than economists' estimates of a drop to 435,000,
according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.

The same herd of economic idiots that "expect" the new health care
entitlement boondoggle to "reduce" the deficit.

"It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country,
under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object
of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to
subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign
powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of
them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be
avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose
situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful
and vigilant performance of the trust." [Federalist Papers #59]

just got through writing an article that shows that:
43% of tax filers making less then $50,000 per year are on food stamps.
28% of ALL 1040 based tax filers are on food stamps

While I agree with your commentaries, I think you should tighten up the
writing and also improve your punctuation and grammar. Your comments ramble
and sometimes appear done by an illiterate. An English teacher would give
you a "C" for composition.
Make your point and follow through with hard-hitting examples.

yep, and I would say that the reason everything is going to hell in
America is because everybody is focused on the details and ignoring the
big picture.
believe me, it would be nice to go to school and clean up my grammar,
but there is no interest, no time and no money.
just ain't going to happen.
Now if any of you kind folks want to come in and clean up the articles
before releasing, I will have your passwords ready.
For me, I'm going to continue to focus on the big picture and let ya'll
worry about the little things that don't mean squat to me.

actually I think everybody is a product of their environment.
here in central texas, college was not an option in the late 70's, nor
was the interest there.
our choices quite simply were ranching, oil field or military.
I chose all 3 to see which one I liked best.
The military led to electronics.
That led to computers.
Computers led to business interests.
While I appreciate good grammar, etc., there has never been any interest
on my part as I believe the real opportunities are in focusing on the
big picture.
If I hadn't lost it all when the jobs went offshore in 03, I might have
made it.
Still might make it, but It won't be from focusing on improving my
grammar skills when I need to focus on income and income only.
Doesn't mean I don't respect ya'lls viewpoints because I do and I always
appreciate constructive criticism because that is how you learn.

Hi Virgil,
But when it gets to the point when only another Texan can understand
what you mean . . .
You know most of your opportunities will be elsewhere. You might be
working online from your blackberry, but you are selling to the whole
English speaking world.

This time, my comments are not to bother or offend you. Not even so that
you change your mind, though you might agree with some.
There is no such thing as wordless thinking, once your thought process
needs any conceptual ground you will need a language. Therefore your
thought process and your language are intimately linked. So much so that
we create special languages for special needs, such as Math,
programming, etc. Now I believe that if your language is imprecise, then
your thought process will tend to be imprecise. You can rarely be good
with bad tools, and if you are, it will be much harder to be. And
language is the tool for thinking.
Because of that I must completely disagree with your post.

point taken...
it was never my intent to end up where I'm at publishing this blog.
but as I receive more and more letters from people going through the
same thing like this next one I know I'm doing what needs to be done.
http://keepamericaatwork.com/?p=8372
Now if I can figure out a way to pay the bills I will hire a grammar
person and everybody will be happy, but for now I must focus on finding
work.
As it is this site takes 4 to 8 hours per day just to keep it running
and I simply have no more to give...
