Shortcut Command line to open table

Hey all,

I hope this is possible.

Is there a way to place a command to run VFP and open a table in the

shortcut?

i.e.

C:\VFP9\VFP.exe use f:\data\shipper.dbf

??

Thanks,

Philip

Hi Philip,

You could use the config.fpw and put a command in there, iirc.

Philip,

I'm not sure if this is what you want but from Windows Explorer, you can =

right click the table you want to open and "create shortcut." This will

work if the PC is setup to open dbf files with VFP.

OK Stephen - you made me laugh my butt off on that one! And, I actually =

do it without making noise (so I won't disturb the other programmers =

around me) - and that's a difficult feat in and of itself!

:-)

So - Thanks for the laugh!!!

Well, from the prompt:

start mydbf.dbf

will start the application associated with DBF, i.e. VFP, with the DBF

open.

So that would work in a batch file run by a shortcut too, one presumes.
