Will keep going down as long as bush is still in office. I'd buy on
January 19, when stocks will be at their lowest before they begin to go
up again.

I don't think they're going to go up until Obama breaks his campaign pledge and agrees to no new taxes. How can stocks go up when he wants to increase taxes on capital gains, increase income taxes, and increase corporate taxes? Why would anyone buy stocks?
This is the first time that I can remember when people are selling losing stocks to write the losses off their 2008 taxes AND selling stocks that are up to pay the capital gains taxes at the 2008 rate.

The market works in anticipation of events. They are already factoring in an Obamessiah presidency. In fact it was doing that the last few weeks before the actual election. I understand this was just a smartass remark, but it was not based on actual market functions.
