It is virtually impossible to surf without being tracked. Cookies have

been replaced with E-tags, Flash storage, http headers, offline

storage and a bunch of other tricks that even make "private" browsing

simple enough to track.

You can google (or duckduckgo :) for "Universal Cookie" or

"SuperCookie" whatever paranoid phrase might come to mind to find many

stories like:
