Both good tips! if you're looking at configuring long-running unattended

connections, there are some advanced functions like ssh-agent (pagent in

PuTTY) that can retain a key in memory securely. I use this on some of my

unattended file transfer functions. If you can use key-only access, you can

disable password access altogether on the server, making it even more

secure.
