I'm a little confused about what you're trying to do. I'll be glad to

help out if I can. I've been using MySQL since 2002 and have installed

it on dozens of machines, 32-bit, 64-bit, Intel, AMD, PowerPC and RISC

chips, though primarily on Linux and BSD, I do have a couple Windows

installs, though I don't recommend it.

MySQL has version numbers like 5.5, not 2008. Are you talking about

Microsoft SQL Server, rather than MySQL?

So, tell me more about the machine you're trying to install it on

(CPU, RAM, brand, model) and the OS.
