I don't think the drive will boot any more, may get lucky one more time.

I will have to remove this new hard drive and put the old drive back in to

see if I can format it.

I do have an old tape bulk eraser that I used to erase backup tapes long

ago.

I will give that a try also.

I have an external drive enclosure that I can use for standard hard drives

but it won't work for laptop drives.

Maybe they make one for laptop drives so I can access the drive via USB port

and format it that way.

Darn drive had a bunch of company source code on it and don't want to give

it away

We use a software here called Wipe Drive. Boots from CD and looks DOS-ish.
