My average wait for godaddy assistance is 2 min. and they only need help you
once, unless you can't remember anything. I ftp whole sites from one place
to another... databases... now that's a different animal and what I'm trying
to learn..

Everyone has different experiences but for what you get for about 7
dollars a month is pretty fantastic. I started Web Faction because they
support long processes - Django in particular. They host a huge number
of Django sites. They also provide a ton of software that all you have
to do is turn on. You do everything through their control panel. Web
sites, email, databases & applications. I found the system easy to use
and there is a ton of documentation including screen casts. I was a
Windows user when I started, too.
YMMV
