Yeah I said Win 7 is like Vista SP3 because it is refined and Microsoft

listened to the customers who had legitimate gripes on some fit and finish,

and some performance issues. Some people tried it on underpowered equipment

and found it painful (in fairness the original specs for a Vista Compatible

box were underpowered). Some did not like the User Account Control. Others

tried Vista and did not like the UI changes. But most people read that

others thought it stunk and were sheep and repeated. Most of the people I

have heard complain wanted to find a reason to complain. It kicked Microsoft

in the butt and they responded just as I predicted. I have been using Vista

for more than a year and adapted and like it a lot.

I have several netbooks running Windows 7 on a 1GB of RAM and an Atom

processor (not the fastest thing around) and the OS runs fine with several

browsers open and even MS Office apps (all pigs). I did the Anytime Upgrade

to Ultimate on one and Pro on the other. Sure it is not as snappy as my

Vista box with 3GBs of RAM and a fast processor, but it works remarkably

well on low powered hardware. VFP apps will run well too as they do not need

much RAM either.
