The SYS(3050) function has an upper limit of 2 GB, so the suggested code is

a bad idea. Minimally it should ensure the upper limit is not exceeded.

Randomly picking one-third of available memory seems like a waste to me

since VFP runs great with 128 MB in most cases. Naturally this is a

case-by-case situation, but I would have a smarter formula. Mac Rubel did an

article in FoxPro Advisor years ago that showed 64 MB was a sweet spot for

Visual FoxPro query performance. More importantly it showed how more memory

is not necessarily a good thing.
