To be honest Ted I'm not comfortable with Linux full stop. I don't get the

time to learn basically, so what would be best is the simplest version to

get to work.

What I'm after is setting up a mail server to get rid of MS exchange. I want

to be able to use multiple domains much as I can with IIS for web sites.

Also a mailing list server like mailman. I did have the latter set up before

but that was a while ago. And also maybe for mono for cross-platform stuff.

Ubuntu Server in the LTS (Long-Term Support) version is also a good choice.

They both run 98% the same code -- Linux kernel, POSIX tools, your

choice of FOSS applications -- but are tweaked and configured a bit

differently. The primary differences are the package managers and the

tools they use to add/remove programs: Ubuntu uses the Debian style

.deb files and apt commands, while CentOS uses .rpm files and the yum

commands. Again, both are installing pretty much the same software,

it's more of a question of what you're more comfortable with.
