I concur. There was an issue with remote desktop connection from vista to xp (the connection was constantly locking before finishing drawing the login screen). SP1 made that problem go away. Also the speed of everything increased.
I distinctly remember LOTS of people saying "xp sucks, I'll stick to Win98 - way better and way faster".
