The SP 1 for Vista improved performance on my Vista laptop dramatically.
It also lets you specify a different search provider in place of the
default Windows Desktop Search. Replacing that with Google Desktop also
gave it a big boost LOL. Look around the web - there are plenty of
people very happy with Vista SP1.
Anyway, I'll give XP SP3 a whirl on one machine and see what happens.
