Tristan,
Tribox is simply the Software PBX Front end to Asterisk and makes
configuring the server easy as it is all done through a web interface as
opposed to editing script files.

The VMWare version is available from:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=123387&package_id=1922
86

open up the 1.2.2 version and you can see it as tribox-1.2.2-vmware.zip

and the Tribox site is at:
http://www.trixbox.org/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=2/

The new version 2 software is just slicker in operation but all the
functionality is built into the 1.2 version.

At home I use the VMWare version on an old PC to control the 5 house
extensions. You obviously can\'t rout calls "outside" the local network
using the vmware, and the vmware free player is available from the VMWare
site as opposed to using the M$ offering.

Thanks all

Hmm, I didn\'t know about TrixBox. I shall download an ISO and check it
out in a MS VPC? Will it work under MS VPC?

"The system I installed runs on 10 broadband lines each one supporting 2
x BT VOIP phones. Don\'t ask why I have 10 broadband lines - it\'s a bone
of contention betw3een me and the client, but I\'m stuck with them and it
runs very well. I route each set of 2 x VOIP phones out through the
Asterisk box onto the appropriate Broadband channel and voila."

Who, a lot of bandwidth is required then, or is that the bone of
contention? What sort of bandwidth would be needed to run say 8 voip
lines? Not going to be all running at the same time!
