This is a great article, for all the right reasons.
I'm not sure I'd say that ADA access requirements "up the standards". One of the points in the article is that flashy/glitzy/highly-pictorial and animated websites are not only inaccessible, they are slower (and in my opinion, more likely to confuse and annoy surfers). While cutting that kind of stuff way back would be good for many reasons, I'm not sure it's "upping" the standards rather than rolling them back to something that a broader audience can deal with.
