Back in the ancient days when I started my business (after working in
a *very* people-intensive environment), I found myself having
inappropriately-long and involved conversations with clients and
whomever else I came into contact. I don't remember what triggered my
realization of this, probably a kurt "gotta go" from one of them.

No ProFox in those days, and it took me a while to discover the old
CompuServe forum. By that time, I had gotten used to it. Still miss
it sometimes. OTOH, I had a client who required me to be on-site
about four days per week. I just couldn't abide the time wasted in
chit-chat, meetings, lunch outings, etc. Drove me nuts. I just
couldn't stop thinking "How does anyone *ever* get anything done
around here?"
