The setup: My computer has 2 drives, with C as master and D as slave. C
is all NTFS. D is partioned into vFat, and Reisersf

Dual boot, using GRUB into W2K on C drive or Suse10 on the D:Resiersf.

For a long time, GRUB has been occasionaly freezing on the opening
screen, forcing me to reboot and try again. (I suspect a bad spot on
the disk). Lately, the problem's been getting worse, so I booted into
Suse, and looked at the boot options. I notice that there is an option
to set GRUB up to boot from the 2nd drive, and put "generic code" in the
MBR of the first drive. I plan to try this AFTER work today, and AFTER
a backup.

Assuming that something goes wrong, and that I can use a KNOPPIX CD to
get the machine running in that event, what do I need to backup before I
mess with this? (I mean, as far as being able to restore the boot like
it is now?) Thanks.
