Michael,

Simple advice with the disclaimer that this advice does NOT follow
Microsoft's recommendations:

Always place all your VFP runtime files, FLL's, etc in your
application's main folder (the same folder where you install your exe).

I've never had a problem with this approach.

BTW: I avoid the Common folder you reference like the plague because, as
you're experiencing, 3rd party products (including your own<g>) can mess
with these files. My thinking ... why have to suffer the additional
support dependencies of having other apps mess with my application's
files?
