A lot of people have suggested MySQL (which, btw, I'm a huge fan of), so I'd better explain that they have invested a LOT of money in their server, which is a Novell server. I'm fairly certain that I can't run MYSQL directly on the Novell server (although I'd *love* to be proven wrong, so speak up!) and there is absolutely a snowball's chance in Hell that they will dedicate another machine to serve the data. The data server must be on the server machine.
Otherwise, I'd jump at the chance.
