How do you adequately reinforce a dike against mother nature.

Folks, ya'll need to admit to yourselves, that we can NOT guarantee every
single thing that happens every second of the day, no matter what the
beancounters and insurance actuarials tell you.

There are some things that are going to happen to you in your life that you
cannot plan for.

Jason, most people get their information from TV, and the TV's primary
mission is to keep people tuned in so they'll see more commercials and get
more doses of political mind-shaping.

This approach precludes a rational approach to understanding and solving any
given problem, including global warming.

Look at what's happening in New Orleans: TV's whole message is "Americans
are going to pay big time for this one" - and not a word about the
politicians and planners who didn't adequately reinforce the dikes in the
first place - or the insurance companies who let them get away with it.
People who work every day in that field knew that, sooner or later, this
would happen.
