I am sure you love your country very much. What I disagree with you about
(on occasion) is whether and how far your ideas are really good for your
country, or mine. I know you have this image of me (and others) as really
intolerant of different views, but nothing could be further from the
truth---or at all events, we're no more intolerant than any of the
self-appointed, cracker-jack-licensed logicians on this list. I just don't
pretend to be more tolerant than I really am of what I consider to be
nonsense, and I prefer to be emotionally honest about it, yea, even when I'm
grumpy, rather than give the pretense of objectivity.

Matter of definition, that. I like to think when I'm not going out of my way
to be rhetorically "on the edge" my arguments are for the most part
well-thought-out and quite coherent. Who doesn't like to think that?
