You didn't watch the video. The suction method removes oil that is pump
up into the oil filter, as well as the oil in the oil pan. Using the
gravity method to drain the oil form the oil pan leave a considerable
amount of dirty oil in the oil filter housing, that can be easily remove
with a suction hose.
