Hi,
TAXES Has everyone forgotten the history lesson of why we broke away from England and created our new country now known as the "United States of America". Primarily, it was the taxes and low and behold that same "tax everybody and tax everything" mentality from the left is trying its best to hold us Americans hostage. Tax everything and tax everybody and give it away to the lazy (welfare) and the illegal immigrants coming in and taking over the labor markets, being paid cash to avoid detection.
SS If the country of Chile can be successful at allowing its citizens invest in their own retirements, then surely to goodness that we Americans can also be successful, after all we are Americans, and I fully believe in us... There is nothing that we cannot work out, if we just try.
This retirement investing is no difference from what each of us deals with daily... we analyze a customers software/hardware needs and we offer a much better solution for the future than they were using in the past, but the work is in getting them to an open mind and allow us to show where they will benefit, when they employ our proposed solution.
BANKRUPTCY Accountability is another one of those issues that is being minimized, and I hope this trend stops because it allows a breeding ground for "its not my fault", "you're working, so pay my bills" and "just file bankruptcy" mentalities to take hold. Personally, I'm glad that Bush has now made it harder for lazy people to legally steal from all of us via the new bankruptcy law. It is appalling to see lawyers actively encourage others to seek bankruptcy protection, when in fact they are destroying their clients credit while taking their money, and bankruptcy was not really warranted - just easy money for the lawyer.
Regards, Stanley

Hi Pete,
Workers really can't not pay their taxes; because, the taxes are collected out of worker's paycheck and submitted to the Treasury on a weekly basis, and the 1099 form reporting the income is matched to the workers tax return to be sure the income is reported, so that the entire amount cannot be claimed on the 1040 form for refund.
There is no organization of labor in America. In the European countries labor is much better organized. Perhaps UK has a nation labor union and even a labor political party, so if that happened in America, it could give the workers some leverage to insist that they be treated fairly. If you want to strike fear into the heart of a Republican, just mention "Labor Unions" as the Republican party is extremely anti-union.
There has to be balance between labor and management. It is possible that labor unions can grow to strong which would then hurt their country.
